On May 12, 2023, at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) held the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between HUCE and Vietnam General Association of Construction.
Attending the ceremony, on the side of Vietnam Construction General Association, there were Dr. Dang Viet Dung – President of the General Assembly; Dr. Pham Khac Thuong – General Secretary, Head of Science and Technology Department; Dr. Pham Van Khanh – Head of Economic Department; Dr. Le Van Long – Secretary of Economic Department.
On the side of HUCE, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Quan - Director of Institute of Construction Investment Management; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung – Head of International Cooperation Department; Dr. Le Ba Danh – Deputy Head of Science and Technology Department.
Overview of the signing ceremony
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Rector of the University expressed his honor to cooperate with Vietnam Construction Association. To give participants a better understanding about the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa shared an overview of the university's development history as well as future development orientations, emphasizing the cooperation between HUCE and associations, businesses to be one of the important strategies in the development strategy of the University. The Rector wished that the two sides promote their strengths, deepen a more practical relationship to promote more cooperation, contribute to each other and develop together in the field of training high quality human resource for Construction industry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Dang Viet Dung - President of Vietnam Construction Association highly appreciated the training quality of HUCE via his practical experience working directly with engineers who graduated at the school. Mr. Dang Viet Dung said that cooperation with universities in the field of Construction in general as well as cooperation with HUCE in particular is of great significance in building and developing a team of engineers and managers of the construction industry in the future. Mr. Dang Viet Dung discussed the possible areas of cooperation and believed that the signing of cooperation agreement with HUCE would definitely create many good results for both sides and contribute positively to the development of the construction industry.
The two sides signed a cooperation agreement
At the ceremony, the two sides also exchanged many important and practical cooperation contents. Both sides reached consensus on aggressive cooperation aiming promoting efficacy cooperative activities in terms of training, scientific research and technology transfer. In particular, both sides will join, support each other to implement scientific research topics and projects in the fields of construction; organize scientific seminars and events introducing new technologies and construction materials; participate and coordinate in organizing the Loa Thanh Award; participate in training and retraining to improve practical skills, legal knowledge, and construction expertise; participate in activities of granting practice certificates and granting certificates of competence in construction activities under authority and scope of the Association in testing for issuance of Certificate of Practice, fostering professional knowledge when necessary, appointing experts to participate in the appraisal and the certificate-granting council of the General Association.

The signing of cooperation agreement between the General Association and HUCE is to expand and promote cooperation in training, research, and other professional activities within the functions of each party, to improve efficiency and effectively exploit potentials, taking advantage of the strengths of the two sides in terms of human resources, expertise, technology and facilities to improve and develop high-quality human resources for the Construction industry.
