Enterprise connect – Future orientation workshop, the Department of Water Engineering

On the morning of April 14, 2021, the Workshop on Business Connection - Future Orientation of Water Engineering was held at the National University of Civil Engineering (NUCE).

Attending the program, on behalf of CEOTIC Transport Infrastructure Engineering and Consulting Joint Stock Company, there were Mr. Le Minh Ha - Company Director, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Deputy Director, Mr. Ngo Quang Dinh - Technical Advisor Mr. Tran Tien Dung - Director of CLAVIS technology transfer and consulting joint-stock company. On the side of Vietnam Science and Technology Joint Stock Company (Busadco), there were Mr. Hoang Duc Thao - Labor Hero, scientist, General Director of the company, Ms. Dao Thi Thu Thao - Director of the Northern branch, Mr. Ngo Tuan Kiet - Representative of Institute of Energy under Vietnam Academy of Sciences, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang - Deputy General Director of Song Da Construction Consulting Joint Stock Company, Mr. Tran Quang Dat - Deputy Director of CTE-WIND Viet Nam, Mr. Bui Hoang Diep - Deputy Director of PTSC Marine Mechanic Services Company Limited. On the side of NUCE, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh - Vice-Rector, Dr. Mai Hong Quan - Dean of Faculty of Civil Engineering CTB&DK, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Quang Cuong - Director of the Institute of CTB, former head of the CLC CI, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Hien Hau – Vice Dean of CTB&DK Faculty of Construction, MSc. Pham Thi My Lan – Deputy Head of Information & Communication Department, MSc. Duong Thanh Quynh – Vice Dean of CTB&DK Construction Faculty, Dr. Bui The Anh - Head of the Department of Construction Engineering of Marine Works and Tank Pipelines, Dr. Mai Sy Hung - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Waterworks Construction, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Lam - Vice Dean of the Faculty of Waterworks Construction, Dr. Vu Quoc Hung – Head of Port and Waterway Construction Department, Dr. Tong Ngoc Tu - Head of High-qualified PFIEV Engineering Department, along with teachers in KSCLC Committee, teachers from CTT Faculty of Civil Engineering, CTB&DK Faculty of Construction and students.

High-Quality Engineer Training Board cooperating with the Faculty of Hydro-Construction and the Faculty of Marine and Petroleum construction organized the workshop "Connecting businesses - shaping the future of the water industry” with the ambition of connecting NUCE with businesses in the field of construction, especially in the hydraulic engineering industry and went on cooperation contracts. Furthermore, the workshop also aimed to strengthen the connection between theory and practice as well as helping students further understand their major and have a clear direction for their future.

Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh - Vice-Rector of NUCE said that NUCE always attaches special importance to the connection between the University and enterprises. Besides training specialized knowledge, NUCE also cooperates with businesses to create a practical working environment, giving students the opportunity to hone their skills and gain more work experience. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh expressed his delight when the cooperation plan between NUCE and businesses was increasingly interested which contributes to promoting teaching and implementing research cooperation projects as well as consolidating and further developing the relationship between the University and enterprises.

In order to mark a new stage of cooperation and mutual development between businesses and the University of Civil Engineering in the field of construction of water and marine works, the signing ceremony of the MOU memorandum of cooperation took place at the seminar. 

On the occasion of this cooperation agreement, CEOTIC company and CLAVIS company awarded scholarships to 2 students with the highest sub-disciplines scores in the Water Engineering major.

Afterward, at the workshop, the delegates and students listened to the speeches by experts at the enterprises. In the vibrant atmosphere, many questions were raised and enthusiastically answered by teachers and business representatives.

The University of Civil Engineering was officially established in 1966. After more than half a century of construction and development, the Department of Water Engineering is the cradle of training, scientific research, technology transfer, and production workers in the field of construction of waterworks, marine works and petroleum. The teachers, teachers and alumni majoring in Waterworks and Marine Engineering at NUCE have made many contributions to important achievements in the cause of national construction and development.

High-quality hydraulic major under the PFIEV High-quality Viet Phap Engineering Program was established nearly 20 years ago. Together with its French partner, the Central School of Paris (Ecole Centrale de Paris), the National Polytechnic Institute of Grenoble (INP Grenoble), the CLC hydraulic engineering industry has trained many excellent engineers/masters/doctors who are dynamic, creative good at foreign languages, and holding great responsibility in agencies/units. In particular, a significant number of alumni from the CLC hydraulic engineering industry were trained at partner and established schools in France.
