To unleash the potential and encourage the innovative entrepreneurial spirit of students; to create an environment for developing practical ideas and products that meet the needs of society and businesses; and to connect with the market, investment funds, and organizations supporting startups, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is organizing the Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ideas Competition 2026 - HUCE Innovation and Technology 2026 (HUCE-InTech 2026).

Plan:

Eligibility and format of the competition

Eligible participants: Students currently studying at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and other higher education institutions nationwide.

Competition format: Each team consists of 3-5 members, with one representative acting as team captain; each student can participate in a maximum of 2 teams, with a maximum of 1 team captain.

Each team may submit only one entry. During the competition, the list of members may be changed by a maximum of 50% compared to the initial registration and no further changes are allowed after the preliminary round.

Competition field

The ideas and projects participating in the HUCE-InTech 2026 Competition aim to solve community and social problems, as well as practical issues raised by businesses, focusing on the following themes:

Natural sciences (computer science and information, data science and artificial intelligence, earth sciences, etc.)

Science, engineering and technology (advanced construction technology, new materials, smart infrastructure, etc.)

Social sciences (economics and business, economic and social geography, etc.)

Other fields offer creativity and entrepreneurial potential.

Contest rules

The competition consists of two rounds:

Preliminary Round:

Teams proactively develop and refine their creative ideas and submit their entries to the Faculty that manages the team leader.

The application package includes:

(1) Project description document

(2) Short video under 3 minutes introducing the project, idea

BTC will select the best ideas to advance to the final round.

Final Round:

BTC will invite experts in innovative startups to train and mentor the finalist teams to upgrade their competition entries.

The final round judging panel will select the winning teams and submit them to the SV_STARTUP 2027 Student Entrepreneurship Ideas Competition.

Funding support

Each team that reaches the final round will receive 1 million VND in funding from the school to complete their project.

Prize

The prize structure includes: 1st prize; 2nd prize; 3rd prize and 1 consolation prize.

First Prize: Certificate from the Principal, prize money of 20 million VND, and investment opportunities from startup support funds and businesses;

Second Prize: Certificate from the Principal, prize money: 5 million VND and investment opportunities from startup support funds and businesses;

Third Prize: Certificate from the Principal, prize money: 3 million VND and investment opportunities from startup support funds and businesses;

Encouragement Award: Certificate from the Principal, prize: 2 million VND and investment opportunities from startup support funds, sponsor's businesses and investment opportunities from startup support funds.

Event Period: September 2026 to December 2026

• Registration for the competition: from September 21, 2026 to October 21, 2026;
• The preliminary round is scheduled to take place in November 2026 (tentative date).
• The final round is scheduled to take place in December 2026 (tentative).
