In the festive atmosphere leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), under the close attention and guidance of HUCE’s Party Committee and Rector Board, the Faculty of International Education (FIE) organized a Lunar New Year's meeting for international students who are currently pursueing programs at HUCE, on the occasion of the New Year 2026 on the morning of February 5th, 2026.
Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Dinh Huy - Deputy Head of the Department of Student Affairs, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phong - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Mr. Khuc Thanh Dong - President of the Student Association, and the leaders and staff of FIE. Notably, nearly 100 students from Laos, Cambodia, France, the Czech Republic, and Nigeria participated in this event.
On behalf of the university, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Quynh Hoa – Dean of FIE, extended New Year's wishes for happiness and success to all international students and affirmed that the university will always accompany and provide the best conditions throughout their years of study and life in Vietnam.

The program was opened impressively with vivid video clip about traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year (Tets), helping international students understand more about Tets and the meaning of family reunion during this time. The atmosphere in the meeting hall was heated up with cultural performances showcasing the distinct identities of each nation from students representing Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and France. The blend of multinational melodies created a vibrant tapestry of cultural exchange, bridging any ethnic differences.

The most meaningful activity of the program was the gift-giving ceremony. The representative leaders from HUCE personally presented international students with traditional green sticky rice cakes (bánh chưng) and lucky red envelopes (lì xì), conveying wishes for a healthy, successful, and peaceful New Year. The subsequent "Quiz with Prizes" on the theme of the Vietnamese Lunar New Year was incredibly lively, allowing international students to both excitedly receive gifts and gain interesting knowledge about Vietnamese customs and traditions.
The meeting was ended with commemorative photos showcasing the radiant smiles of all the leaders, professors and international students. This will undoubtedly be an unforgettable memory, further strengthening the solidarity among students from different countries under the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
