Within the framework of the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Project, from April 20th to April 28th, 2026, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering had the honor of welcoming two experts , Professor Boris Belev and Associate Professor Roumiana Zaharieva, from the University of Architecture, Construction and Surveying (UACEG), Bulgaria, for a visit and working session.
This business trip was not only an opportunity for in-depth academic exchange but also contributed to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two training institutions in the field of construction and architecture.
During their time at the School, the experts directly participated in teaching and sharing knowledge with faculty and students. Professor Boris Belev's lecture on the design of steel-concrete composite slabs according to Eurocode 4 provided modern approaches to structural design, attracting the attention of many students in the Civil Engineering field. Simultaneously, Associate Professor Roumiana Zaharieva presented a specialized topic on Construction and Demolition Waste Management (CDW) – an increasingly urgent issue in the context of sustainable development, contributing to raising students' awareness of environmental responsibility in the construction industry.
The scientific seminar on the topic "Structural Reliability and Circular Economy in Construction" brought together numerous lecturers from the Departments of Civil & Industrial Construction, Environmental Engineering, and Building Materials. Here, experts shared the latest research and engaged in in-depth discussions on sustainable development trends and the application of the circular economy in the construction sector – directions that are receiving strong attention worldwide.
In addition to teaching activities, the expert delegation also held a working session with the Institute of Building Science and Technology (IBST) – Ministry of Construction, opening up many prospects for cooperation in scientific research, technology transfer and professional development in the future.
The visit and working trip of the UACEG expert delegation concluded successfully, leaving many positive impressions. The activities within the program not only contributed to improving the quality of training and research at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering but also further affirmed the university's role in the international academic cooperation network, aiming for deeper integration with European partners.
