From April 7th to April 16th, 2026, with the approval of the Board of Rectors of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), the Faculty of International Education (FIE) in collaboration with Singapore Polytechnic (SP), successfully organized Learning Express - LeX 2026. This is the third consecutive year the program has been implemented, continuing the resounding success of previous courses.
This year's course brought together 58 outstanding students (29 students from SP and 29 students from HUCE), under the dedicated guidance of experienced lecturers: from SP - Mr. Saurabh Ankit, Mr. Sampath Kumar and Ms. Claressa Sim Zhen Li; from HUCE - Dr. Nguyen Doan Binh, Dr. Le Anh Vu and MSc. Nguyen Quang Dat, along with professional advice from Assoc. Prof Tong Ton Kien and Dr. Ngo Hoang Ngoc Dung.

A highlight of the course was the field trip to two traditional craft villages in Ung Thien commune, Hanoi: Quang Phu Cau (incense stick production) and Xa Cau (plastic waste sorting). There, students from both universities discussed and assessed the current situation to find solutions to pressing local issues such as environmental and water pollution.

Using design thinking and project planning methods, the groups researched, experimented with simulations and directly gave their presentation to local residents to adapt their products to practical needs.
In the morning of April 15th, 2026, the model exhibition in the lobby of H3 Building - HUCE attracted significant attention from lecturers and students of HUCE. The course jury evaluated and awarded prizes: Best Ideation, Most Sustainable Design, Best Teamwork, Best Group Presenter, Most Attractive Prototype and Most Attractive Person.

At the end of the course, all participating and completed students received certificates and meaningful commemorative gifts. Through the course, students not only honed their problem-solving skills, improved their foreign language proficiency but also built strong international friendships.
The closing ceremony took place in a warm atmosphere with impressive musical performances, wrapping up an emotional LeX 2026. The models on display may only be the beginning, but the spirit of responsibility and community-driven creative thinking will be invaluable assets accompanying the students on their future career paths!
Let’s look forward to new milestones and new faces in the upcoming LeX courses!
HUCE would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Government of Singapore and Singapore Polytechnic (SP) for their generous sponsorship and partnership throughout this course.
