Connecting outstanding student talents at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.

On March 18th, VCC organized a program to meet, share, and provide career guidance to outstanding students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, thereby strengthening connections with high-quality human resources, supporting young talents, and preparing resources for a new phase of development.

Participating in the program were 40 outstanding students from various faculties of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, including Architecture, Civil and Industrial Construction, Bridge and Road Engineering, Building Materials, and Construction Economics. These students all boasted excellent academic results, with many achieving GPA grades and excelling in national Olympic competitions and university-level scientific research.

Sharing with the students, Deputy General Director Dang Van Chung introduced an overview of VCC, its operating model, key business areas, and development orientation for the coming period. In particular, the construction sector was identified as one of the Corporation's important growth pillars, with significant development potential in both B2B and B2C segments, infrastructure, transportation, social housing, and international projects. Based on this reality, VCC leaders affirmed that students in construction, architecture, transportation, materials, mechanical engineering, or construction economics fields will have many career opportunities at VCC in the future.

The highlight of the program was the direct, relatable, and practical sharing by Deputy General Director Dang Van Chung about his career journey, the requirements of businesses for young talent, and development opportunities at VCC. According to the Deputy General Director, what is important for young people is not only professional knowledge, but also their work attitude, their willingness to take on challenging tasks, their readiness to experience real-world situations, and their willingness to start from the most basic tasks. He also emphasized that the process of working on construction sites and in real-world jobs will help young people accumulate skills, develop character, and create a foundation for long-term development.

Sharing with students about career paths at VCC, the Deputy General Director stated that the Corporation is an environment ready to delegate tasks and authority to young people, creating clear opportunities for advancement for individuals with competence, responsibility, and a desire for development. In the context of VCC continuing to expand its business space in the 2026-2030 period, especially in the fields of construction, infrastructure investment, and international markets, opportunities for young engineers and architects will become increasingly abundant.

Beyond introducing domestic job opportunities, VCC also provides students with a broader perspective on their future career prospects. With a nationwide network of branches and overseas markets, many positions can meet the diverse needs of individuals; furthermore, students with strong professional skills and appropriate foreign language proficiency have the opportunity to participate in international projects as part of the corporation's GoGlobal strategy.

In particular, drawing on his years of experience working at Viettel, the Deputy General Director also shared with the students four important values that young people need to cultivate for development. Sustainable values encompass: Heart, Mind, Strength, and Culture. Heart represents honesty, a commitment to completing tasks, a willingness to tackle difficult challenges, and the ability to prioritize both collective and personal interests; Mind represents foresight, the ability to recognize problems, and the perseverance to overcome difficulties; Strength encompasses education, knowledge, expertise, and experience. In the workplace, strength is not just about qualifications but also about the ability to translate knowledge into tangible results; and Culture is the cultural foundation, manners, discipline, politeness, and understanding formed through family, school, and personal development.

These are not only essential qualities for the job, but also the foundation for each individual to improve their professional competence, career confidence, growth mindset, and conduct within the business environment.

Besides the presentations from the leaders, the Q&A session was lively, with many practical questions from students about internship opportunities, the work environment, recruitment requirements, and career development paths at VCC. The open and frank atmosphere of the program helped students better understand the needs of the company and provided them with more specific direction for their career journey.

More than just a meeting, the program is a concrete step for VCC in its strategy of early talent scouting, guidance, and attraction. In the future, the corporation will continue to select suitable students to connect them to its potential workforce, while also implementing additional activities such as scholarships, internships, project visits, and early recruitment to build a high-quality workforce for the new development phase.
