On September 8, 2026, at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), HUCE and the Vietnam Federation of Schools, Institutes and Universities of Information and Communication Technology (FISU) held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), opening the groundwork for extensive cooperation in training, scientific research, technology transfer, and especially in jointly organizing the National Conference on AI in Construction – AI4Construction, scheduled to take place in November 2026.

Overview of the Signing Ceremony
Attending the signing ceremony, on behalf of the Vietnam Federation of Schools and Institutes of Information and Communication Technology (FISU) were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy - President of the Club; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thu Lam - Vice President and General Secretary. On behalf of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Luong - Head of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering; Dr. Le Thi Thuy Duong - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Information Technology; Dr. Pham Van Minh - Deputy Head of the Science and Technology Department; Dr. Hoang Nam Thang - Director of the Information Technology & Database Center; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung - Head of the Department of External Relations and International Cooperation.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, delivered a speech at the signing ceremony.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) – emphasized the significance of strengthening cooperation between a training and research institution specializing in construction and a network with strengths in information technology, communication, and artificial intelligence. Accordingly, the collaboration between HUCE and FISU will create more opportunities to connect knowledge, experts, businesses, and technological resources, gradually promoting research and application of AI to practical problems in the construction industry. Professor Nguyen Hoang Giang also expressed his hope that AI4Construction will become a highly interconnected activity, not only creating a forum for academic exchange but also aiming for concrete results, bringing AI research, solutions, and technologies from laboratories, universities, and businesses into practical applications in construction, architecture, infrastructure, and transportation.
On behalf of FISU, Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Thuy – President of FISU – affirmed that the cooperation with Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) is an opportunity to leverage the strengths of the network of universities, institutes, experts, and technology businesses, while expanding the application of AI in a field with a huge demand for digital transformation such as the construction and architecture industry. According to the cooperation orientation, FISU will collaborate with HUCE to develop specialized content, connect AI experts, scientists, technology startups, and businesses within the FISU ecosystem; and support the connection of universities and institutes capable of solving technological problems in the construction industry.

The two sides exchanged views on the contents of the cooperation agreement.
According to the Agreement, HUCE and FISU agree to strengthen cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research, and technology transfer, leveraging each other's strengths to promote the application of information and communication technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in the fields of construction, architecture, urban infrastructure, and transportation.
One of the key areas of cooperation is the joint organization of the National Conference on AI in Construction – AI4Construction. The conference aims to build a forum connecting management agencies, universities, research institutes, construction companies, technology companies, and experts and scientists in the field of AI.
According to the plan, the National Conference on AI in Construction – AI4Construction will be held from 8:00 to 17:10 on Friday, November 13, 2026, at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, 55 Giai Phong Street, Bach Mai Ward, Hanoi City, with an expected attendance of approximately 300 delegates. HUCE is the main organizer, and FISU is a co-organizer.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement on September 8, 2026, is a significant milestone, laying the foundation for HUCE and FISU to coordinate the preparation for AI4Construction, from developing specialized content and connecting experts, scientists, and businesses to organizing, communicating, and operating the conference. According to the division of responsibilities, HUCE is primarily responsible for the venue, technical infrastructure, finance, operation, reception, logistics, mobilizing delegates, construction industry businesses, and regulatory agencies; and coordinating the entire program. FISU will take on the role of coordinating, providing professional support, developing content guidelines, and connecting experts, scientists, technology startups, and businesses within the AI ecosystem.
Following the signing ceremony, both parties will continue to coordinate the implementation of the planned activities, aiming for the successful organization of the Conference on November 13, 2026. The program is expected to include keynote sessions, leadership panel discussions, parallel thematic sessions, technology demonstrations, and business networking; it is also planned to include an in-depth Autodesk training program and certification for universities, training institutions, and businesses that register to participate.


The two sides proceeded to sign the cooperation agreement.
Through this cooperation agreement, HUCE and FISU aim to build a long-term collaborative platform, contributing to bringing AI solutions from research into practice, promoting digital transformation, innovation, and enhancing collaborative capabilities. The competitiveness of Vietnam's construction industry in the new era.
