Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is co-organizing a specialized workshop on: Ventilation Solutions and Ensuring Traffic Safety in Tunnels.

On the morning of October 27, 2026, as part of the activities celebrating its 60th anniversary, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) collaborated with Kruger Vietnam Ventilation Industry Co., Ltd. to organize a specialized seminar on "Tunnel Ventilation". The event attracted a large number of international experts, managers, lecturers, and students from the university.

Overview of the Conference

Strengthening strategic cooperation between the School and international entrepreneurs.

In his opening remarks at the workshop, Professor Nguyen Hoang Giang, Vice Rector of the University, stated that, in the context of rapid urbanization and the development of underground, road, and urban rail (metro) infrastructure in Vietnam, specific technical requirements, equipment standards, and safe operating solutions are becoming top priorities. Organizing this specialized workshop is an important opportunity to update knowledge and connect research institutes and universities with global technology corporations.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, delivered the opening remarks at the conference.

Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Tran Hoai Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Infrastructure (Ministry of Construction), highly appreciated the initiative of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering to organize this specialized event. Deputy Director Tran Hoai Anh emphasized that, in the context of the rapid urbanization and development of underground, road, and urban rail (metro) infrastructure systems in Vietnam, specific technical requirements, equipment standards, and safe operating solutions are becoming top priorities. Organizing this specialized workshop is an important opportunity to strengthen connections between the university, state management agencies, and global technology corporations, thereby contributing to the completion of the technical framework and improving the quality of future infrastructure projects.

Mr. Tran Hoai Anh - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction Infrastructure, delivered a speech at the workshop.

With the support of reputable partners such as Kruger Vietnam Ventilation Industry Co., Ltd. and its parent company Soler & Palau (S&P) Ventilation Group - a world-leading brand headquartered in Spain, delegates attending the Program received the following: A valuable source of information from the practical experience of businesses. Established in Singapore in 1985, Kruger and the S&P Group have affirmed their position as leading providers of energy-efficient ventilation solutions, industrial ventilation, and underground transport infrastructure solutions in the region and globally. The presence of senior experts from S&P-Kruger provided invaluable practical insights for engineers and students in the fields of civil engineering, bridge and road engineering, and environmental engineering at the School.

Updating advanced tunnel ventilation technologies and solutions.

The workshop featured in-depth specialized sessions led by experienced international speakers:

  • Session I provided an overview of modern underground transport infrastructure; a detailed analysis of the operating principles of tunnel ventilation systems; an introduction to Kruger's high-tech product ecosystem; and new product development directions to meet stringent standards for smoke and emissions control and fire response in underground spaces.
  • Session II & FlowPro Solutions: Focusing on analyzing and solving real-world problems during the installation, commissioning, acceptance testing, operation, and maintenance of systems. In particular, Mr. Roeland Bos - Director of FlowPro Asia-Pacific region - introduced the FlowPro tunnel fire damper solution, providing optimal gas flow control and risk prevention for complex underground structures.

Experts share information at the Workshop

A forum for open exchange and future orientation.

The Q&A session was extremely lively, with experts, who are lecturers from Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, directly asking international experts questions about real-world technical scenarios in key projects in Vietnam and Asia.

The "Tunnel Ventilation" workshop concluded with resounding success, not only enriching the practical professional knowledge of young engineers and HUCE students but also strengthening the close cooperative relationship between the university and major technology companies, contributing to the training of high-quality human resources to serve the development of the country's transportation infrastructure.

Delegates and experts exchange views at the discussion session.

Earlier, on the morning of October 27, 2026, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) held a meeting with representatives from Soler & Palau – Kruger Group and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam to discuss cooperation in the fields of construction, transportation infrastructure, and tunnel ventilation technology.

The meeting also contributed to strengthening the networking role of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam, creating a foundation for Hanoi University of Civil Engineering to expand its cooperation with the international business community, especially in the fields of construction, technology, and urban infrastructure development.
