On the afternoon of March 12, 2026, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering held the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the 2026 University-level Olympic competition. This event aimed to honor students with outstanding achievements and marked an important turning point in the academic movement throughout the university.
Overview of the Closing Ceremony and Award Presentation
The ceremony took place in the G3 building's second-floor auditorium, with the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Thanh Tung - Vice Rector of the University. Also in attendance were Dr. Khuc Thanh Dong - President of the Student Union, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Chi Cong - Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, along with lecturers who guided students in subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Theoretical Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Foreign Languages... and a large number of students and their families.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Thanh Tung - Vice Rector, emphasized: This year's competition holds special significance as it has officially been renamed from "Annual Student Excellence Competition" to "University-level Olympic Competition". This change is not only in name but also reflects the university's orientation towards elevating the academic arena, aiming for the standards of specialized Olympic competitions, thereby creating strong motivation for students to develop their abilities and aspirations to conquer knowledge.

This year's competition, held on February 1st, 2026, attracted nearly 400 students who competed with seriousness and high determination. After the results were announced, the school issued a decision recognizing and rewarding 158 students who achieved the highest scores. The awards included:
- First Prize: 1,500,000 VND/prize
- Second Prize: 1,000,000 VND/prize
- Third Prize: 500,000 VND/prize
Dr. Khuc Thanh Dong - President of the Student Union, announced the Decision to recognize and reward students who achieved high results in the exam.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, Associate Professor Pham Thanh Tung warmly congratulated the 158 outstanding students on their achievements, while also acknowledging the dedicated guidance of the teachers. He also expressed his hope that the students would continue to maintain their passion for learning and actively prepare for exams to achieve even more success. We hope to achieve even higher scores in the upcoming National Olympic competitions. These efforts and achievements are a practical gift contributing to celebrating the 60th anniversary of the founding and 70th anniversary of training at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering.
The closing ceremony concluded in a solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere, marking a successful season and further igniting the passion for research and scholarship among students throughout the university.
