On September 5th, 2026, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) held its Opening Ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year, joining the nationwide opening ceremony of educational institutions. This year's ceremony took place in a special atmosphere as the university is intensifying its activities leading up to the 60th anniversary of its founding (1966-2026).

Attending the Opening Ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung - Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, members of the Party Committee and Board of Directors, representatives of various associations and socio-political organizations, leaders of faculties/departments/offices, along with faculty, staff, and students from the entire university.

The Opening Ceremony was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, connecting faculty, staff, and students throughout the university with students nationwide to welcome the new academic year. In the solemn and enthusiastic atmosphere of the new academic year, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering officially enters the 2026-2027 academic year – a year with a special significance as the University is honored to be one of the 12 leading core higher education institutions prioritized by the State according to Decision No. 1612/QD-TTg dated August 20, 2026, of the Prime Minister. Simultaneously, 2026 is also the year the University will implement many key activities leading up to the Grand Celebration of its 60th anniversary (1966-2026).

Joining in the joyful atmosphere of the Opening Ceremony of the new academic year, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Tung - the Rector of the University - delivered a powerful and inspiring speech. Not only did he outline the University's development direction, but he also shared sincere and profound messages with all staff, lecturers, and students.

• Proud of its position and opportunities for breakthroughs: In the context of the Science, Engineering, and Construction sectors receiving strong investment from the State, HU students... CE is facing vast career opportunities. Approaching its proud 60th anniversary and 70 years of training, this is a golden time for faculty and students to affirm its position as one of the 12 key national universities.
• Dedicated responsibility, student-centered approach: The Principal emphasized that the mission of faculty and staff extends beyond simply teaching the curriculum; it also includes accompanying and understanding students' lives. The school is committed to creating a respectful learning environment where students receive support when facing difficulties, have opportunities for experience, are allowed to make mistakes, and grow. This dedication must be maintained consistently from the Board of Directors down to each faculty member and department staff member.
• A heartfelt message to the students: Youth and time spent in university are invaluable. The professor reminded the students to cherish the excellent learning conditions they have, understand the sacrifices their families have made, and be proactive and strive their best. Don't waste your youth; strive not only for yourself but also to spread positive values to the community.
• The most meaningful commemorative gift: As we approach the school's grand celebration, the most practical and precious gift lies not in superficial events, but in each staff member working more responsibly and each student studying and growing stronger.
