On the morning of June 24, 2022, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering cooperated with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, Da Nang City to successfully organize the Workshop "Management and Recycling of Construction Solid Waste in Danang City". The workshop is part of the series of implementation events of the SATREPS project entitled "Establish an effective construction waste management system to control environmental pollution and enhance the ability to manufacture new materials from recycled construction waste in Vietnam”.
Attending the seminar, on the side of Hanoi National University of Civil Engineering, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Rector, Chairman of JCC; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Vice Rector, Project Director and members of the Project Management Board. The representatives of the Japanese side were Prof. Ken Kawamoto - Saitama University, Co-Director of the Project; Prof. Tetsuo Konaka - Saitama University, former Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam and project coordinator.

On the local authority side, there were Dr. Le Quang Nam - Member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee; Dr. Architect To Van Hung - Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment; Mr. Dinh Vui - Head of the Urban Committee of the City People's Council; Mr. Duong Dinh Lieu - Vice Chairman of the Front Committee and presence of more than 50 participants represented agencies, departments, branches, environmental protection sub-departments, sea islands, associations, companies, and so on in Da Nang and Hanoi cities.

At nearly 30 online broadcast stations are experts from the HUCE, Saitama University Japan, Environmental Research Institute of Japan, Japan International Cooperation Agency, Japan Science and Technology Agency, International organizations, Department of Technical Infrastructure Ministry of Construction, Department of Construction Hanoi, Department of Natural Resources and Environment Can Tho, environmental companies and so forth.

At the seminar, the experts of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering shared many topics related to the survey results conducted in the past period and proposed solutions for sustainable management of construction solid waste in Da Nang city; Mechanisms and policies, experimental research results and application of absorbent recycled materials for pavement construction.
Subsequently, a Technical Support Agreement between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Japan's Saitama University and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang City was signed to assist localities in applying and replicating the results of the project as well as building a model of construction solid waste management and recycling by 2025 with a vision to 2030 for Da Nang city.
