The war is far away, but the painful loss is still there. In recent years, information about the event that soldiers of the 207th Regiment died heroically at Da Bien hamlet, Thanh Phuoc commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province on October 3, 1973, of which the majority were students. The University of Civil Engineering has made a strong impression on the press forum, public opinion, especially generations of staff and students of the University of Civil Engineering.

During the war to defend the Fatherland, many cadres, lecturers and students of the National University of Civil Engineering said goodbye to the lecture hall, temporarily put aside unfinished dreams, bid farewell to relatives, teachers, and friends on the road. join the army. In any battlefield, former cadres and students of the National University of Civil Engineering have devoted themselves to contributing their wisdom, strength, youth, and blood and bones to the army and people of the country to achieve victory. The sacrifices of former students of the University of Civil Engineering leave grief in the hearts of relatives, teachers and friends, but also the pride of the school's staff and students.

Being well aware of the responsibility of the next generation is to continue on their journey, giving wings to generations of students to nurture the belief of victory, to strive for the prosperity of the country, for the happiness of the people.

With that spirit, the National University of Civil Engineering will preside over the construction of the 207th Regiment Martyrs' Memorial in the Memorial Area at Da Bien hamlet. The completed work will have great traditional educational significance, contributing practically to the 60th anniversary of training and 50th founding anniversary of the National University of Civil Engineering held in November 2016.

The Campaign Committee for the construction of the Monument wishes to receive the gratitude of generations of staff and students of the National University of Civil Engineering in all regions of the country.
