Opening ceremony of the training course on Survey and Design of Offshore Wind Power Structures at Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).

On October 12, 2026, at the headquarters of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), in collaboration with EVN, held the opening ceremony for the course "Survey and Design of Offshore Wind Power Structures according to IEC 61400 Standard". This activity concretizes the cooperation agreement between the two sides, contributing to enhancing the professional capacity of EVN's staff and engineers in the field of offshore structures and renewable energy.

Overview of the training course opening ceremony.

Attending the opening ceremony, on behalf of EVN Group was Mr. Le The Phong - Deputy Head of the Technical and Safety Department. On behalf of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Phong - Deputy Head of the Training Management Department; Dr. Bui The Anh - Deputy Head of the Faculty, in charge of the Faculty of Offshore and Oil and Gas Construction, along with lecturers participating in teaching the training course.

The trainees participating in the training course are officials and engineers from the specialized departments of EVN Group, including the Investment and Construction Department, the Planning Department, and the Technical and Safety Department; power construction consulting units, power project management boards (Board A), and power generation corporations GENCO 1, GENCO 2, and GENCO 3.

The course is implemented based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and EVN Group, signed on January 28, 2026, reflecting the orientation of linking training activities with the practical needs of businesses. The program aims to equip participants with in-depth knowledge of surveying and designing offshore wind power structures, supporting staff and engineers in enhancing their professional capacity and meeting the requirements for implementing energy projects in the future.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Phong - Deputy Head of the Training Management Department, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, delivered the opening remarks for the training course.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Phong - Deputy Head of the Training Management Department - emphasized the strengths and training tradition of the University in the field of offshore structures and structures serving the oil and gas and energy industries. This is also a specialized field that is emphasized in the engineering training program of the Faculty of Offshore and Oil and Gas Construction. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hung Phong, the students participating in the course all have practical experience in designing, constructing, reviewing, and supervising projects. Therefore, the program not only focuses on imparting professional knowledge but also encourages exchange and discussion between lecturers and students, thereby connecting academic knowledge with practical project implementation experience.

Mr. Le The Phong - Deputy Head of the Technical and Safety Department, EVN Group, delivered a speech at the training course.

Speaking at the training course, Mr. Le The Phong, Deputy Head of the Safety and Technical Department of EVN Group, highly appreciated the cooperation between the Group and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering in developing and implementing training programs to enhance the professional knowledge of officials and engineers from EVN's departments, corporations, and consulting units. Mr. Le The Phong stated that during the implementation of energy projects, the Group needs knowledge and professional capabilities related to surveying and designing offshore structures, hydropower plants, transmission lines, and energy infrastructure. In the context of offshore wind power opening up new development opportunities, preparing a workforce with appropriate expertise is a crucial requirement to gradually realize investment orientations and plans in this field.

Officials and engineers from EVN Group participated in the training course.

The course is taught directly by lecturers from the Faculty of Offshore and Oil & Gas Engineering, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering. With expertise in offshore engineering, structural engineering, and construction techniques, the teaching staff provides a training program that is grounded in scientific principles, specialized knowledge, and practical requirements. The course content focuses on the surveying and design of offshore wind power structures according to IEC 61400 – an important international standard for wind power systems. Familiarizing students with the technical requirements of this standard helps them improve their understanding of the design basis, working conditions, and requirements related to the safety and reliability of wind power structures.

Dr. Bui The Anh - Deputy Head of the Faculty, in charge of the Faculty of Offshore and Oil & Gas Construction, delivered a speech at the training course.

The implementation of training courses at EVN Group not only aims to enhance the professional capacity of its staff and engineers but also demonstrates a genuine commitment to cooperation between higher education institutions and businesses. From the signed cooperation agreement, in-depth training activities are gradually opening up opportunities to leverage resources, share knowledge, and improve the quality of human resources to meet the development requirements of the industry.

Through this program, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering continues to affirm its orientation of training linked to practical applications, leveraging its strengths in the fields of civil engineering and marine engineering, contributing to the development of high-quality human resources to serve the energy transition and the sustainable development goals of the country.
