1. The pressure for green transition and the solution from technology.
Green transition is not only an urgent environmental requirement but also directly impacts export costs and a company's ability to participate in global supply chains under stringent standards such as the European Union's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). To overcome this challenge, businesses must restructure production, invest in digital technology, renewable energy, and emissions data management.
At the workshop, many advanced technological solutions were introduced, such as smart battery management models, renewable energy optimization, and waste treatment combined with power generation models, such as the Seraphin waste-to-energy plant (AMACCAO Group) – which processes hundreds of thousands of tons of waste and contributes hundreds of millions of kWh of electricity to the national grid. These models demonstrate the potential for exploiting the economic value of waste when supported by science and technology.
Experts shared information at the workshop.
2. Strategic orientation and pioneering role of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering
Towards celebrating its 60th anniversary, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering continues to affirm its mission as a leading center for training and scientific research. Speaking at the event, Professor Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector of the University – emphasized that the breakthroughs in renewable energy, waste treatment technology, and carbon emission control are creating an urgent need for interdisciplinary research and the training of high-quality engineers.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Hoang Giang – Vice Rector of the University, delivered a speech at the Conference.
With a strong foundation in the fields of construction, environment, and infrastructure, the University possesses significant potential for research, application, and transfer of green technologies. The Faculty of Environmental Engineering exemplifies its scientific research capabilities with highly practical applications and boasts a distinguished faculty including Professor Tran Thi Viet Nga – recipient of the Kovalevskaia Award in 2026.
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Duc Luong – Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, further shared that current market demands human resources who are not only highly skilled in their field but also possess interdisciplinary thinking, the ability to apply digital technology, and solve practical problems. Therefore, the Department always emphasizes closely linking the training process with the actual production practices at enterprises.

3. Signing strategic cooperation agreements: Putting knowledge into practice.
A key highlight of the workshop was the signing ceremony of a memorandum of cooperation between the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and its business partners. The agreement aims to promote research programs and technology transfer in environmental and renewable energy; while also expanding internship opportunities, providing practical experience, supporting living expenses, ensuring occupational safety, and offering early employment opportunities for final-year students.
This event not only marks a significant step forward in the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering's strategy to improve the quality of its training, but also creates a strong impetus to bring scientific research results from the classroom to directly serve the development of a green and sustainable economy.
