In February 2023, two students Van Huu Ninh and Cao Tran Thanh, students of the 1st course in Computer Science of the Joint Training Program between HUCE and the University of Mississippi (USA), received commendation from UM’s Principal for students with cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.75-4.0 in one semester. In which, Van Huu Ninh achieved a GPA of 3.94/4 - this is a proud result not only for Ninh but also for his family and HUCE. Besides, three students - Le Quang Huy, Nguyen Phuc Hung (Civil Engineering) and Truong Tuan Vinh (Computer Science) were also honored to receive the Commendation from the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, UM for students with GPA in 1 semester from 3.50-3.74.

Those guys are the students of the 1st Course of the Joint Training Program between HUCE and UM (USA) since 2019. This is a program with 2 majors in Civil Engineering and Computer Science approved by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam, allowing enrollment from the 2019-2020 school year. The training structure of the program is 2 + 2 , in which the first 2 years students will study at HUCE and 2 years later, students will study at the University of Mississippi (USA). Students can choose to join one of the majors, Civil Engineering and Computer Science. University degree is awarded by the University of Mississippi (USA). This is the first program in Vietnam associated with a university in the US in the field of engineering. During the first stage of studying in HUCE, Huu Ninh and Tran Thanh showcased their academic performance equally in all subjects, GPA ~7.5- 8.0/10 (about 3.4/4.0). In addition to good academic performance, Ninh and Thanh are also very calm and sincere students, loved by teachers and classmates.
Flying to the US to study in stage 2, they continue to promote their intelligence and seriousness in learning. As a result, they ranked top of the best students at UM (GPA from 3.75-4.0). At the same time, in July 2023, the first-course students of the joint program will receive a university diploma issued by the University of Mississippi, in accordance with the signed program.
It can be seen that students have achieved high achievements in an advanced learning environment like in the United States thanks to being equipped with good basic knowledge at HUCE. That confirms the prestigious position and training quality on science and technology offered by HUCE as well as the ability to arouse creativity, a spirit of passion for learning, and provide a high-quality learning environment to create conditions for students to go far in learning and research at the University of Mississippi - one of the top 200 prestigious universities in the US.
