On September 17, 2026, at the "Green Stream of Vietnam 2026" Award Ceremony, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) was honored. This is the first year that a representative from the university and institute sector has received the award.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Diep - Chairman of the Vietnam Water Supply and Drainage Association, presents the 2026 Vietnam Green Water Award to the winning units.

The awards ceremony was organized by the Vietnam Water Supply and Drainage Association within the framework of Vietnam Water Week 2026 at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, Hanoi. Vietnam Water Week 2026 took place from September 16 to 18, 2026, with the theme "Digital Transformation - Enhancing the Adaptability of the Water Sector in the New Era".

At the ceremony, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering was honored to receive the "Green Stream of Vietnam 2026" Award. Dr. Pham Tuan Hung - Deputy Head of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Viet Anh - Head of the Water Supply and Drainage Professional Group, represented the University in receiving the award.

"The Green Stream of Vietnam" is the most prestigious award of the Vietnam Water Supply and Drainage Association. Notably, 2026 marks the first year that the award has received recognition from a group of universities and research institutes. The honor bestowed upon Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is a recognition of the university's contributions to training human resources in the water sector, scientific research and practical application, international cooperation, serving society and the community, and contributing to the development of Vietnam's water sector.

The field of Water Supply and Drainage Engineering has a long tradition of training at the University. The first cohort of Water Supply and Drainage Engineering students was trained in 1967, and to date, more than 5,000 engineers, masters, and doctoral graduates have entered the field. In recent years, the Water Supply and Drainage Engineering program has been continuously reviewed and updated to enhance the content related to the industry's economics, digital transformation, sustainable development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, while linking program improvement with quality assurance and the participation of businesses. Alongside training, the University conducts research, international cooperation, testing, and technology transfer activities related to practical issues in the Water and Environment sector, participates in the development of technical standards, provides policy advice, and engages in community service activities.

Lecturers and students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering receive the Outstanding Graduation Project Award from the Vietnam Water Supply and Drainage Association.

Hanoi University of Civil Engineering also maintains close ties with the Vietnam Water Supply and Drainage Association through professional, scientific, training, and human resource development activities. Many lecturers and scientists from the University in the field of water supply and drainage participate in the Association's activities and the industry's professional networks.

This award further motivates Hanoi University of Civil Engineering to continue developing its strengths in training, research, cooperation, and community service; strengthening connections between the University, businesses, professional associations, the community, and international partners, contributing to human resource training and promoting the sustainable development of Vietnam's water sector. The award is even more significant as the University approaches its 70th anniversary of training and its 60th anniversary (1966-2026).
