On September 19, 2026, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) solemnly held the Welcome Ceremony for New Students of Course 71. This event marked a significant milestone as more than 4,800 new students officially entered university, sharing in the proud atmosphere of celebrating 70 years of training and 60 years since the founding of the University (1966 - 2026).
Affirming its position as a key national training center.
Over 60 years of formation and development, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) proudly stands as one of the 12 leading core higher education institutions in the capital city, receiving priority investment from the State. With a pioneering mission, HUCE is not only the source of hundreds of thousands of talented engineers, architects, experts, and managers, but also a leading center for research and technology transfer. The mark of the university's faculty and students is evident throughout the country, directly contributing to numerous national-level infrastructure, transportation, irrigation, and urban architecture projects.
An inspiring message from the Head of the School.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Hoang Tung – the Rector of the University – extended his warmest congratulations to the new students and their families. The Rector posed two simple yet profound questions: "Why did you choose this university? And what will you do in the future?" Through this, Associate Professor Hoang Tung emphasized that what the students learn will be concretely present in their lives, perhaps in the form of a house, a bridge, a railway line, or an urban area. In particular, the word "Construction" is not just the name of a field of study but also embodies the spirit of creation. The time spent studying at the university is an opportunity for students to not only build a solid foundation of knowledge but also cultivate their character, dreams, and responsibility towards society.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung - Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, delivered a speech at the program.
Besides specialized knowledge, university education is also an environment for students to develop holistically. The university will always support and help students broaden their understanding of culture and society, hone their life skills, and build lasting relationships. At the same time, the Rector kindly reminded the new students to always remember their families; independence must go hand in hand with a sense of responsibility to be worthy of their parents' love and trust. Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is committed to being responsible for the success of each student, providing dedicated care throughout the training process and creating the best conditions for students to confidently embark on their journey after graduation.
Honoring talent and expressing gratitude for companionship.
At the program, a traditional activity of the school with profound humanitarian significance was the Do Quoc Sam Scholarship Award Ceremony. This prestigious scholarship fund was established from the financial support of the family of the late Professor Do Quoc Sam – the first Minister of Planning and Investment, former Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (1977-1982), along with the contributions of organizations, businesses, and partners. At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee presented and honored outstanding individuals: awarding one special scholarship worth VND 20,000,000 to the student with the best academic performance in the 2025-2026 academic year and awarding other scholarships. Regular scholarships, each worth 5,000,000 VND, are awarded to students who meet the specified criteria.
The school awarded the Do Quoc Sam scholarship certificates to the students.
On this occasion, on behalf of all faculty and students, the University leadership respectfully extends its deepest gratitude to the agencies, businesses, organizations, sponsors, and generations of alumni who have always shown concern, companionship, and provided many practical support to HUCE students.
Representatives of the school presented certificates and expressed gratitude to the businesses that have partnered with and supported the school's activities.
The welcoming ceremony for the 71st cohort of new students has concluded in joy, pride, and a renewed sense of enthusiasm. We wish all teachers, staff, and students a healthy, joyful, and successful academic year in 2026-2027.
