General Introduction

Faculty of Political Theory

The predecessor of the Faculty of Political Theory was the Department of Marxism-Leninism, established in 1966 when the University of Construction was located in Huong Canh, Vinh Phuc Province. Throughout a challenging period of development, the Department of Marxism-Leninism continued to mature and strengthen. In 2004, the Department was upgraded to the Faculty of Marxism-Leninism. In 2008, the Faculty of Marxism-Leninism was renamed the Faculty of Political Theory.

With a strong teaching staff, the Faculty of Political Theory undertakes the important task of providing students of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering with knowledge in the fields of politics, ideology, and society.

1. Staff

The Faculty of Political Theory currently has 17 teaching staff members and 1 administrative staff member. Of these:

Currently, 16 members of the Faculty are members of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

2. Training Objectives

- To equip students with the basic principles of Marxism-Leninism; Ho Chi Minh Thought; and the revolutionary viewpoints and guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

- To foster revolutionary beliefs, ideals, and ethical values among students.

- To gradually develop a scientific worldview, outlook on life, and methodology, creating a foundation for students to approach their specialized fields of study.
