Main content of university training programs

• The Faculty of Economics and Construction Management has developed a curriculum for its courses that covers a wide range of advanced knowledge.
• The body of knowledge in the fields of Construction Economics, Urban Economics and Management, Real Estate Economics and Management, Construction Investment Auditing, and Project Management is divided into the following main areas:

- General education

- Fundamental knowledge of the subject area and the subject itself.

- Specialized knowledge

- Supplementary knowledge/skills

- Internship/Graduation Project

Postgraduate training

• The approved program includes 45 credits (35 compulsory and 10/13 elective) with a training duration of 18 to 24 months.
• Doctoral training: The Faculty, in collaboration with the Graduate School, has been training PhDs in Production Organization and Management since 1983, but this specialization has now been changed to Construction Management.

TRAINING OBJECTIVES

• To train engineers, Bachelor of Construction Economics and Construction Management graduates with political qualities, ethics, health, teamwork skills and professional competence to successfully complete tasks in construction investment activities, urban management and development activities, and real estate investment and business activities.
• Engineers and graduates are equipped with in-depth knowledge in two areas: knowledge of construction engineering and knowledge of construction economics and management, ensuring that after graduation, engineers can perform their professional work well and are accepted by employers.

Here are some notable achievements in the Faculty's scientific research activities in recent years:

• Scientific research has always been identified as one of the key tasks of the Faculty of Economics and Construction Management. Over the five academic years from 2019–2020 to 2023–2024, the faculty members have conducted a total of 30,815 hours of scientific research.
• The faculty actively leads and participates in research projects ranging from the University level to the Ministry level, Nafosted Fund, national level, and international cooperation projects. Statistics on scientific research output over the past five academic years show 1,173 research projects registered by faculty member. The specific figures are as follows:

• Regarding the list of independent research topics and projects with specific information, specifically during the 2022–2024 period, the Faculty implemented 29 research topics and projects, including 8 Ministry/Nafosted-level projects, 8 key university-level projects, 6 university-level projects, and 7 international cooperation projects. In the 2023–2024 academic year, the total declared budget for these research topics and projects with specific data reached nearly 2.9 billion VND.
• The Faculty has achieved many outstanding results in scientific publication. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Faculty had 76 scientific articles and reports; the list of international publications in 2024 alone recorded 24 works, of which 22 works are listed in Scopus, SCIE or ESCI databases, accounting for 91.7%.
• Many of the faculty members' works have been published in prestigious international journals such as the Journal of Environmental Management, Building and Environment, Energy for Sustainable Development, Engineering, Construction and Architectural Management, and the International Journal of Construction Management.
• The Faculty's research focuses on topical issues closely related to the construction industry, such as digital transformation, BIM, project cost and risk management, green buildings, circular economy, net-zero emissions, carbon credits, construction safety, and sustainable urban development.
• In addition to conducting research and publishing scientific papers, the faculty actively compiles books, textbooks, and training materials, contributing to transforming research results into practical learning resources for students.

The Faculty regularly maintains and expands its student research guidance program. In the last five academic years, the Faculty has had 123 registered research projects, with 102 projects successfully defended and approved, attracting 456 student participants. Specific figures are as follows:

These results affirm the dynamic academic environment, the solid research capabilities of the faculty, and the creative spirit of the students; and demonstrate the Faculty of Economics and Construction Management's commitment to closely integrating training, scientific research, international cooperation, and professional practice.

Faculty Activities

• The Faculty of Construction Economics and Management teaches courses in the fields of Construction Economics, Urban Economics and Management, Real Estate Economics and Management, Construction Investment Auditing, Project Management, and related areas to students in the majors and specializations under its management, while also participating in teaching some courses to students in other training programs throughout the University. In addition to its teaching activities, the Faculty conducts scientific research, provides consulting and scientific-technological services, and offers training and professional development in the fields of construction management, urban management, real estate management and business, construction investment auditing, project management, and related professional fields.
• Cooperate with ministries, sectors, localities, Vietnamese universities, research institutes, and businesses in doctoral and master's training and scientific research.
• We collaborate with several international universities and organizations to train master's and engineering students, including those from Taiwan, the United States, Belgium, and the Russian Federation.
• Collaborating with foreign universities such as QUB and Leeds (UK) in scientific research activities.

• Students studying at the Faculty of Construction Economics and Management - Hanoi University of Civil Engineering will be provided with sufficient knowledge in construction engineering and specialized knowledge in Construction Economics, Urban Economics and Management, Real Estate Economics and Management, Construction Investment Auditing, and Project Management.
